Caramel Custard or Creme Caramel or Flan…whatever you call this, I made this for the first time recently, which is rather surprising given that this was one of my favorite homemade desserts growing up. I remember my Mother making this somewhat often probably due to my frequent requests. So it does surprise me that while I make desserts regularly, this isn’t one that I’ve tried. All that changed when on a whim thought I’d give it a go. I put my own spin on it by infusing the custard with thyme (just because I had some). End result was a very familiar favorite which brought back some good memories of me sitting on our verandah eating spoonfuls of cold caramel custard to combat the tropical heat.
